Protea

Why Protea?

Proteas are incredibly unique, tropical flowers with over 25 varieties, the most spectacular being the largest, the king protea. These woody, pincushion and conical-shaped flowers are guaranteed to draw attention. It's really easy to pair Proteas with smooth textured flowers and greens in bouquets, centerpieces and wreaths, and achieve stunning results (and compliments-just check Pinterest). Proteas can also be dried to last for years.

Tips from our experts

Protea need a deep and heavy vase because of the weight of the flowers. Remove fragile pincushion flowers carefully from the box. After removing the paper from each flower, cut the stems, place into a water and fertilizer solution. Cut the stems, remove leaves that will be below the water level, and add fresh water every 2 day to extend the life of your proteas.
